RETAIL SALES ASSOCIATE -- JEWELRY & WATCH SPECIALIST

A day in the life of a Jewelry & Watch Specialist at TDFJ (Responsibilities)
➢ Model the TDFJ Way; deliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service.
➢ Achieve personal targets that drive sales (e.g., Monthly KPI’s).
➢ Work with teammates towards store goals, creating a positive working atmosphere, and supporting each other to combine individual strengths to enhance team performance.
➢ Foster emotional connections with customers by clienteling.
➢ Provide product knowledge, features and benefits to all customers when presenting merchandise.
➢ Advise customers on quality, cuts, and/or value of jewelry and gems and assist in selecting mountings and/or settings for gems.
➢ Participate in daily staff briefings and monthly one and one meetings with management.
➢ Accurately complete financial transaction using point of sale (POS) and obtain credit authorizations.
➢ Inspect and clean customers jewelry.
➢ Provide estimates for jewelry and watch repairs.
➢ Perform watch battery replacements and watch band adjustments.
➢ Display merchandise in accordance with our merchandising plans.
➢ Perform business opening and closing procedures as outlined in the Policy and Procedures Guide.
➢ Perform basic housekeeping, such as vacuuming carpet, cleaning display surfaces, cleaning merchandise, and on a rotation for common areas cleanings.
➢ Manage rotating DOR’s (Department Of Responsibilities, e.g., Shipping, Repair, Merchandising…)
➢ Maintain safety and security by following all loss prevention and security procedures.
➢ Participate in counting inventory and maintaining records.
➢ Maintain flexibility to work any shift, including weekends, holidays and overtime.
➢ Perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Requirements
➢ Proven work experience in Sales (3 years)
➢ Expert understanding of sales principles and customer service practices
➢ Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
➢ Desire to work in a fast-paced environment
➢ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Education or Certifications
➢ GIA (Gemological Institute of America) Education
➢ AGS (American Gem Society) Education
➢ DCA (Diamond Counsel of America) Education
